About Us

For more than 12 years, Judy and Richard Winter of Retniw Standards have been breeding and raising exceptional Standard Poodles for exceptional owners. As members in good standing of the Harrisburg Kennel Club and Quiet Springs Obedience Club, we strive to produce healthy, good-tempered Apricot and Red Standards with the correct conformation. Our puppies are raised in our home with liberal amounts of tender loving care - producing very well socialized dogs. We start all of our puppies on house training.

Health Issues

We take great care to screen all of our dogs for health problems prior to breeding, including OFA, SA, vWD(DNA) Thyroid and CERF screening for genetic problems. All puppies are vet-checked and vaccinated before being placed in their new homes, and we offer a full health guarantee with every puppy sold. Pet quality puppies are sold with a limited registration and spay/neuter contract. 

Our Commitment

As responsible breeders, the health, happiness and well-being of our puppies is very important to us, and we are careful to ensure that each dog is being placed in a loving, capable, knowledgeable and permanent home. We require that all potential puppy buyers have some knowledge of the breed it's care, as well as adequate resources and facilities to properly care for a poodle. A fenced yard is a must! We provide plenty of post-sale support to new owners, including a quarterly newsletter packed with helpful information on health, hints on dog care and lots of photos!
